Shetland College
Shetland College is great next step for young people wishing to go on and complete further study. A partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands, college courses range from agriculture, business and administration, software development and archaeology, to art and design, computing, social services and healthcare. There are options for full or part-time study and you can progress from NC-NQ level onto Higher Education and even degree level.

NAFC Marine Centre
Shetland is home to one of the country's leading training and education centres for maritime studies, the NAFC Marine Centre. NAFC offers a range of training courses relevant to the maritime industries, including the merchant navy, fishing and aquaculture. Maritime courses range from the three-year Merchant Navy Cadet Programme to short courses and cover both 'deck' and marine engineering topics, as well as other subjects required by seafarers. Studying at NAFC Marine Centre is a great opportunity to learn skills and qualifications embedded in Shetland's maritime heritage.
